2027: KWARA GOV’S SPOKESMAN, AJAKAYE DECLARES REPS BID

Rafiu Ajakaye, spokesperson to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.

He announced his ambition in a short Yoruba video shared on social media on Monday, where he sought the backing of leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ajakaye’s declaration comes amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with aspirants stepping up consultations to secure party support.

The governor’s spokesperson, who has served since 2019, said his decision followed consultations with party stakeholders, elders, and opinion leaders within and outside the constituency.

“I am Rafiu Ajakaye, PhD. I am aspiring as a Member of the House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja, under the banner of the APC,” he said.

He stressed the importance of effective representation in driving development and improving service delivery, adding that collaboration between lawmakers and the state government is essential for progress.

Ajakaye pledged to provide accountable and responsible representation if elected, while urging APC leaders to support his aspiration ahead of the party’s primaries.
