The senator from Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, officially handed in her Peoples Democratic Party nomination papers on Monday in Abuja, showing she is ready to run for reelection in 2027.

She arrived at the PDP national office with her supporters and political friends, and she made a noticeable impression wearing a winecolored outfit and red clothes, along with her usual dark glasses.

Akpoti-Uduaghan is aiming for her second term in the Senate.
She is likely to face strong competition from the ruling All Progressives Congress, with former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, expected to be a serious contender for the seat.

After submitting the forms, the senator expressed her thanks to her community and the PDP for their ongoing support and belief in her leadership.

“I remain committed to the service of my people and the advancement of democratic values. This journey is not about personal ambition alone, but about sustaining purposeful representation, youths and women empowerment and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every community,” she said.

The senator, known for her outspoken style and advocacy on governance and social issues, said her priority remained the development of Kogi Central through improved infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic opportunities.

“We have started a movement of hope, inclusion, and progress. By the grace of God and the support of our people, we shall continue to build a future where every citizen feels represented and valued,” Akpoti-Uduaghan added.

Since her emergence in the Senate, the PDP lawmaker has remained one of the most vocal members of the National Assembly, attracting national attention through her interventions on governance issues and her prolonged face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Her submission of the nomination forms has already sparked excitement among supporters, many of whom believe her return to the Senate would consolidate ongoing developmental projects and strengthen representation for Kogi Central.
