2027: SOLUDO EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION

By ‘Balogun Ibrahim
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win a second term in office, calling on progressive political groups across the country to unite in support of the President.
Soludo spoke on Wednesday in Abuja while addressing Tinubu and members of the All Progressives Alliance Africa during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.
The governor reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s economic reforms and vision for national development, saying his backing was rooted in the principles of national unity, security and shared prosperity.
“We in Africa believe in the unity of Nigeria. We believe in the security of Nigeria. We believe in the shared prosperity of Nigeria,” Soludo said.
He explained that these principles informed his political group’s decision to support the President, whom he described as representing three essential pillars for Nigeria’s present and future.

Soludo also called on progressive political forces to close ranks, arguing that collective action was necessary to achieve the country’s development objectives.
“I have called before that all progressives in Nigeria must unite. This is an opportunity that we must not miss.
“We must come together for this new Nigeria that we dream about,” he said.
Expressing optimism about Tinubu’s re-election prospects, the governor suggested that a second term would enable the administration to accelerate its economic reform agenda.
“In the second term, I want to believe, it’s not if you get second term. We are talking about when you get second term,” Soludo said.
He acknowledged that the President’s chosen economic reform path was challenging but maintained that it was necessary for the country’s progress.
“The path you are going, the path that you have chosen, that you have had the courage to take, is difficult, but it is necessary,” he said.
Soludo described the next phase of the reforms as an opportunity to advance what he termed “pragmatic progressiveness” in Nigeria.
“It is the acceleration path towards what I call pragmatic progressiveness that we must entrench in Nigeria,” he added.
The Anambra governor urged progressive political groups to work together in support of the country’s transformation, stressing that the current period offered an opportunity to consolidate the administration’s policies.
Reaffirming his backing for Tinubu, Soludo declared, “So I say to you, Mr. President, I’m with you.”
His remarks centred on political unity, continued economic reforms and the need for progressive forces to rally behind a shared national development agenda.
