Aisha Yesufu Says Nigerians Must Take Charge Ahead of 2027 Elections

Popular activist Aisha Yesufu has described the 2027 general elections as a crucial opportunity for Nigerians to fight for their future.

Yesufu warned that no one will come to save Nigerians in 2027, urging citizens to abandon any expectation of miracles or external intervention in addressing the country’s challenges. She stressed that the responsibility rests entirely with the people.

She explained that what many consider a “miracle” is simply God granting citizens the chance to stay alive and actively participate in choosing their leaders. Nigerians must therefore rise to the task of making informed political decisions rather than relying solely on divine intervention while remaining inactive.

Yesufu further cautioned that the struggle for Nigeria’s future is already underway, emphasizing that the 2027 elections will be a defining moment for the nation’s survival and direction.

In a post on X, she wrote:

“In case you missed my New Year message, no one is coming to save us. It is we, Nigerians, who will save ourselves.
The miracle we pray for is God keeping us alive to be part of the decision-makers who will govern Nigeria.
The time for decision-making is now. We should not abdicate our responsibility to God and fail to do what is necessary.
The 2027 election is Nigerians fighting for their lives, and it has already begun.”
