KETU-MILE 12 AXIS NOW CALM – IKOSI ISHERI MAYORESS ASSURES RESIDENTS
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, has notified all LCDA’s residents that calm has been restored to the Ketu-Mile 12 community and has urged them to resume their normal activities.
According to accounts, there was a breakdown in law and order on Friday morning in the Ketu-Mile 12 area when protesters took to the streets and caused destruction of properties.
After law and order had been restored, the mayoress released a statement to reassure the terrified residents. The announcement says: “This is to inform all residents of ikosi-isheri LCDA that peace has now been restored in mile 12 community.
“I therefore urge you to carry on with your business activities and remain peaceful.
“I commend all the security officials for salvaging the issue timely.
“My heart is where my community is.”
According to a trustworthy source, the Ketu-Mile 12 market has resumed regular trading after the alleged disappearance of the protesters.
Additionally, it was stated that there were protests in other parts of the state, including Ojota and Agege, with reports of property destruction.
In a tweet, Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson for Lagos State, confirmed the protests and said that security personnel had been sent to the areas.
It appeared that the nation’s current naira shortage was what led to the protests.
There have also been reports of protests earlier this week in a number of states around the country.
