WE HAVE A GOLDEN GENERATION OF FOOTBALLERS IN FRANCE – EDUARDO CAMAVINGA
Eduardo Camavinga’s interview with Fabrice Hawkins:
“I never used to defend, I was always playing in attack. When I arrived at training, I tried to play as a #6 and I liked it really lot, I started defending and felt very good.”
“My strengh is to recover a lot of balls, but I don’t focus only on tackling my opponent, I like interceptions a lot.”
“My weakness was fouls, when I arrived I used to foul my opponents a lot. But then I worked with the coach, and got used of clean tackles, I still practice and train to make it better.”
“I was watching Benjamin AndrĆ© in Rennes. He tackled a lot with one knee on the ground, which allowed him to get up quickly, now I use that and it’s effective.”
“I talked with Karim, I want to improve my finishing and score more goals. Most of the times I’m inside the box, I rush and don’t make the right choices.”
“I need to improve my focus, concentration, because sometimes I ‘disappear’ on the pitch. I also should use my right foot better. I will work hard, I can do better.”
“I have an app to see how many times and where I touched the ball during the game. I always self-criticise and try to improve. If you say I had a good match, but I think I didn’t, then I consider it a bad match.”
“It’s very important in football to be as complete as possible. I know how useful it is to use both foots perfectly, and now I use my right foot a little, I’m working to get better.”
“Tchouameni is my brother. I was so happy when he arrived and took him close to me, because we know each other from before.”
“I always wish the best for Tchouameni, even when he plays ahead of me. He does the same. We don’t have that kind of competition with each other, we just push each other to become better. I say ‘if you’re better than me, you play’.”
“Benzema? If he continues with the performances he is having, of course he can win the Ballon d’Or again. He’s an amazing friend and has helped me a lot from my first day here.”
“I hope to play in midfield for a long, long time. I prefer to play there.”
“We have a golden generation at France, one of the best we had and we want to win everything. I believe we can do very well in the upcoming EURO’s and World Cup.”
