AT AGE OF 17, I RECEIVED N20M ENDORSEMENT — DAVIDO
By Adeniyi Onaara
Nigerian artist Davido said that at the age of 17, he signed a multimillion-naira endorsement agreement.
He claimed that when a telecom company offered him a $20 million endorsement deal, he only had two songs.
The singer of “Omo Baba Olowo” revealed this in a recent interview.
“I recall when MTN, a telecommunications company, came and said they wanted to do an endorsement, but then he (dad) asked how much, and I said $20 million,” Davido recalled. I was 17. Nobody has ever seen that much cash.Wow, this is from Music, and it obviously comes from two songs. “Daddy, see, we can do this,” I say.
“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really really successful.”
