BREAKING: SENATE CONFIRMS APPOINTMENT OF OLAYEMI CARDOSO AS CBN GOVERNORE, FOUR OTHERS AS DEPUTIES

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Yemi Cardoso as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and four additional deputy governors.
Following a review by the highest parliamentary body, they were confirmed on Tuesday.
The deputy governors are Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.
Remember that Cardoso took over as CBN governor in an acting capacity last week, pending his screening and expected confirmation by the Senate?
Meanwhile, the Senate has set President Bola Tinubu’s vetting of two additional cabinet nominations for Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
While the National Assembly was in recess, the President named Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.
