The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) say it has been alerted to certain allegations and fabricated stories regarding the July 21, 2023, conviction of internet scammer Victor Oche Odeh by Kaduna State High Court Judge, Justice Darius Khobo.

In a press statement on Monday, the EFCC narrated that after entering a guilty plea to a separate charge pertaining to internet fraud, Odeh, 19, was one of five undergraduates found guilty and given two-year prison sentences each. The other inmates are Enyogu Etim Ekpo (also known as Henry Wilson, Jasdav7), Chukwukere Obinna Paul (also known as Shaun Lee), Manasseh Sefa Ephraim (also known as Felicia_dannyyels), and Chidebere Stanley Opara (also known as Avail Hollywood).

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) did not disclose Odeh’s age or the ages of any other convicts in a press release dated July 11, 2023. For the purpose of clarity, Odeh is 19 years old.

“However, It is best to disregard all of the false information circulating on social media that claims he is only seven years old. The convict was not “paraded” by the EFCC, and it is not a court of law that rendered the conviction.

“Facts are sacred. Information about Odeh’s offense, prosecution, conviction, and sentence is available on all of the EFCC’s social media channels.

“On this note, any commotion surrounding his conviction is to be disregarded by the general public.”
