JUST IN: IGP ORDERS AIG ZONE 4’S RELOCATION TO PLATEAU

The urgent relocation of AIG Zone 4 to Plateau State, together with the deployment of tactical teams and equipment, has been ordered by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed this in a message that he posted on his X account on Friday.
He wrote, “IGP Arrives Jos, to meet governor, stakeholders As he orders deployment of tactical teams, equipment, Orders relocation of AIG Zone 4 to Plateau State with immediate effect.”
This comes after the attacks on different communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, resulting in numerous fatalities.
It was reported that in the attacks, which began on Saturday and lasted about 48 hours, gunmen killed over 150 villagers and razed many houses, with over 10,000 people reportedly displaced.
The attacks took place in Ruku, Hurum, Darwat, Mai Yanga Sabo, NTV villages in Gashish, and Ropp Districts of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, as well as in Bokkos LGA.
