COUPLE ARRESTED IN OGUN FOR KILLING 45-YEAR-OLD MAN

According to reports, the Ogun State Police Command has arrested a couple, Moses Mba and his wife, Florence, in connection with the 45-year-old Mark Kalu’s killing.

On October 8, 2023, at Osiele Market in Abeokuta, in the Odeda Local Government Area of the state, the couple was alleged to have got into a fight with the dead.

It was reported that Kalu, 45, suffered some injuries during the fight before passing away on Saturday.

In a statement delivered to journalists on Saturday night, SP Omolola Odutola, the PPRO of the state police command, revealed this.

The statement partly reads, “The Divisional Police Officer in Odeda in Abeokuta have received a report of a death incident, that one Mark Kalu, aged 45 years old, died today, January 6th, 2023, at about 0700hrs.

“It was alleged that the deceased sustained injuries during a fight that occurred on October 8, 2023, at Osiele market. The altercation took place in the market square between the late Mark Kalu and a couple, Moses Mba, aged 50 years old, and his wife, Florence Moses, aged 40 years old, leading to the death of Kalu.

“Efforts were made by the Babaloja of Osiele and the Igbo community leader to mediate and find a peaceful resolution.

“However, the suspects have now been taken into custody to facilitate a preliminary investigation into the incident. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Federal Medical Center in Idi Aba for autopsy.”

Remember that on January 5, of last year, men from the Ogun State Police Command also arrested Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and Salawa Oyenusi Ajalorun, along with six other people, for the kidnapping, murder, and dismemberment of Oyindamola Adeyemi, a 26-year-old mother of two.

This was revealed in a statement that the command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, provided to reporters in the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta.

Oyeyemi claimed that the suspects were apprehended after a report lodged at Obalende Divisional headquarters, Ijebu-Ode by one Ojo Omolara, who reported that her neighbour, Oyindamola Adeyemi left home on the morning of December 28, 2022.
