(JUST IN) ECONOMIC HARDSHIP: NLC MEMBERS PROTEST IN LAGOS
Nigeria Labour Congress members have taken to the streets in Lagos State, to air their complaints about the current state of the economy.
In addition, they are opposing the government’s purported inability to carry out the agreements that both sides made on October 2, 2023, when the fuel subsidy was removed.
The decision was made after the Federal Government was given a 14-day ultimatum to take action against the widespread misery.
The union promised to start the protest, but the federal government and the NLC’s meeting last night ended inpasse.
The NLC members in their numbers stormed the Ikeja underbridge and were seen singing and dancing while calling on the government to give listening ears to their demands.
The protest is expected to continue tomorrow.
