COURT DISMISSES ANJARWALLA’S SUIT AGAINST NSA, EFCC
Nadeem Anjarwalla, a Binance executive, filed a basic rights lawsuit against the Office of the National Security Advisor and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, but Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja dismissed it.
The fact that Anjarwalla’s legal team was not present for the proceedings led to the lawsuit being dismissed.
Anjarwalla had petitioned the court for a ruling that the Nigerian government’s imprisonment of him was illegal. In addition, he submitted a request for his own costs.
He emphasized the financial and emotional toll that his incarceration had taken on him, his family, and his relatives.
Tonye Krukrubo, his attorney, had earlier left the case without providing an explanation. The withdrawal happened as a result of rumors that Anjarwalla had left the nation after being arrested.

After submitting a formal “Notice of Withdrawal of Legal Representation,” Krukrubo forced Justice Ekwo to admit that Anjarwalla’s legal representation in the litigation had ended.
The judge put the matter on hold, anticipating that Anjarwalla would quickly find new counsel. Even though the case was called, neither Anjarwalla nor the parties’ attorneys showed up before Justice Ekwo during the most recent court hearings.
Consequently, the judge issued an order dismissing the lawsuit pertaining to fundamental rights.
