SIX CONFIRMED DEAD, THREE INJURED IN LAGOS/IBADAN EXPRESSWAY ACCIDENT
In a collision involving two cars in Verona, Ogere, Ogun State, along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway, six people have been officially declared dead.
This was verified in a statement released on Friday in the state capital of Abeokuta by Florence Okpe, the public relations officer for the Federal Roads Safety Corps.
Nonetheless, he claims that three more people were hurt in the collision.
He clarified that the Sienna Space Bus, which struck a moving truck from behind, was thought to have been traveling at an excessive speed at the time of the disaster.
“The crash involved two vehicles with the following details;
She mentioned an Ash Toyota Sienna with the license plate EPE692EL and an unidentified truck that was moving at the time of the collision and continued to drive after it.
She claims that the bodies were placed at the FOS IPARA Morgue, and the injured victims were sent to Patmag Hospital in Ogere.
“The Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Command, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as an avoidable act if proper caution was fully put in place by the driver, he urged motorists to ensure they give maximum concentration to driving as it is an act that requires such and obey all traffic rules while driving on the highway”
He further commiserated with the families of the crash victims and wished the injured victims a quick recovery.
