The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Gombe State University Chapter, has called off its six-week strike over a slew of unmet demands, including an upgraded welfare package.
The academics halted their strike, which began on September 11, 2024, during a meeting on October 24, 2024.The varsity chapter of ASUU announced on Thursday that the industrial action had been put on hold due to an agreement with the state administration.
The warning was signed by Suleiman Jauro, the state ASUU chairperson, and Mustapha Muhammad, the union’s state secretary.
They said the union evaluated an “update on the negotiation between the State Government Negotiation Committee and the branch.”
Academic activities are to resume immediately.
