Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) detained three suspects last night for allegedly taking two phones from accident victims on Governor’s Road in Alausa, Ikeja.

A few meters from the scene of the collision, the suspects, Isaiah Adegbenro (38), Edet Johnson (30), and Efe Sowemimo (28), were apprehended as they attempted to flee with the phones.

When the driver lost control of the red Toyota Camry 2010 and crashed into a road divider in front of the Adeyemi Bero end of Governor Road, Alausa, Ikeja, the accident victims were traveling towards Ikeja.

Instead of helping the driver and passengers escape the severely damaged car, the three suspects who were near the scene at the time of the accident were looting the victims’ pockets and the car.

An iPhone 12 worth N620,000:00 and an iPhone 15 worth N1,300,000:00 were taken from the accident victims.

When they became aware of the suspects’ behavior, the RRS officers on patrol in the vicinity followed them and took the two iPhones out of their pockets.

In addition to helping the victims get to the hospital, the officers cleared the car of any obstacles.

Important confessions have been made by the suspects. According to CSP Shola Jejeloye, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), they are to be charged in court today.
