
JUST IN: FIRE GUTS TWO-STOREY BUILDING IN ANAMBRA
As of right now, the Anambra State Fire Service is responding to the fire that broke out on Ifejika Street near Sokoto Road in Onitsha.
It was learned that a nearby building was affected by the fire that started at one of the buildings at around 6:20 a.m.
Although the source of the fire is yet unknown, locals, onlookers, and firefighters who are already on the scene were observed attempting to save some items and property from the structure.
In a brief statement on Friday, Chukwudi Chiketa, the head of the Anambra State Fire Service’s Media and Publicity Unit, verified the occurrence.
Chiketa called on residents and members of the public to remain calm as the firefighters battled to quench the fire.
“Anambra State Fire Service is currently on intervention at the scene of the fire outbreak at Ifejika Street, by Sokoto Road, Onitsha.
“The distress call came at 0620am today, and our firefighters deployed immediately.
“The public is advised to remain calm as the situation is under control,” he added.
