BAUCHI FEDERAL POLY OBTAINS APPROVAL FOR EIGHT NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The National Board for Technical Education has accredited the Federal Polytechnic in Bauchi to launch eight new academic programs.

Rabi’u Wada, Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol at the Polytechnic, made this announcement in a statement on Wednesday.

“The accomplishment has enabled the institution to attain an impressive 100% accreditation status,” he said.

He said, “This landmark achievement affirmed the academic excellence and institutional quality of the Institution.”

He explained that the letter was conveyed by the Director, Polytechnic Programmes Department, NBTE, Fatima Umar, adding that “The board also gave approval for the Polytechnic to commence eight new Academic programmes.

“This further expands our academic portfolio in response to emerging national needs and global trends.”

Wada highlighted the newly approved programmes to include “Higher National Diploma, HND in Crime Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Taxation, Cybersecurity and Data Protection.

“Others are: Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, Film and Multimedia Production and National Diploma, ND in Urban and Regional Planning.

“While commending the Polytechnic’s commitment to quality and innovation, the NBTE also highlighted certain operational areas to be addressed for the full regularisation of the newly introduced programmes.

“These include requirements in operational costs for departments, infrastructure, and equipment, which the institution is already working on in line with NBTE standards.”

According to the release, Sani Usman, the Polytechnic’s rector, called the development a daring affirmation of the institution’s ability to provide top-notch technical and vocational education in accordance with Nigeria’s developmental objectives and international best practices.

According to Wada, the Rector also mentioned that the new programs demonstrated the institution’s dedication to remaining at the forefront of media innovation, digital technology, urban planning, and economic development.
