Popular Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has issued a public apology to his wife, Natasha Idibia, their children, and fans following backlash over a controversial remark about male sexuality and monogamy.
The award-winning artiste sparked widespread outrage after stating during a recent podcast that men are not biologically wired to be with just one woman. His comment ignited a heated online debate, with many accusing him of excusing infidelity, while a minority defended it as a “harsh truth.”
“A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman die, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with only one woman. It’s the biology of man,” he had said during the podcast.
In a video shared on Tuesday night, 2Baba backtracked on the statement, describing it as “unlegendary” and inappropriate. He admitted that his words were poorly chosen and expressed deep remorse.
“I know I f**ked up with what I said and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it. I apologise to my fans and most importantly, my wife, the love of my life, Natasha, and also my kids. I’m terribly sorry. That’s not who I am,” he said.
The apology comes amid intense social media criticism and discussions on fidelity, gender expectations, and the influence of celebrity opinions on public discourse.
