FG Flags Off Quality Skills Program Aimed At Improving Career Mobility.
Federal Government has formally flagged off a program tagged “Nigerian skills qualifications framework” (NSQF) aimed at improving career mobility.
Addressing newsmenĀ on ThursdayĀ during the flagging off ceremony, Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu lamented the low standard of quality skills in Nigeria.
He noted that adequate training would enable Nigerian meet up the need arising from technological and economic development.
Correspondent Marian Enakhimion reports that the Education minister however pledged the determination of Government to fill the large gaps in skill qualification as well improve technology and repositioning all technical institutions in order to face future challenges.
In the meantime, the executive secretary, National board for technical education, Dr Adamu kazaure, emphasized the need to establish a council that will be responsible for coordination and development of skills and employment policy for Nigeria.
He added that the Nigerian skills qualifications frame work(NSQF) is to be supported both by administrative and legislative processes so as to fast track its implementation and expected benefit drivable to the Nation.
