WHITE HOUSE DENIES TRUMP AUTHORED LEWD LETTER TO EPSTEIN AMID DOCUMENT RELEASE

The White House on Tuesday strongly denied claims that President Donald Trump authored a lewd birthday letter to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, after the alleged document was published by the House Oversight Committee.
The controversy stems from a 2003 typewritten letter inserted into the sketch of a nude woman, with what appeared to be Trump’s signature placed in the outline of her pubic area. The letter was one of several compiled by Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, into a book for his 50th birthday.
The Wall Street Journal first reported on the existence of the letter in July, prompting Trump to file a \$10 billion defamation lawsuit against the newspaper and its parent company. On Monday, congressional investigators released the document alongside other personal files obtained from Epstein’s estate.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected the allegations outright.
“The president did not write that letter. He did not sign those documents. He maintains that position, and that position will be argued in court by his lawyers,” Leavitt told reporters.
Trump allies argue that the disputed signature does not match his official signing style since assuming the presidency in 2017. However, The New York Times published examples of Trump’s correspondence from the late 1990s and early 2000s, noting a strong resemblance to the contested signature.
When asked if the White House would support an independent handwriting analysis, Leavitt responded: “Sure, we would support that.”
The revelations have revived scrutiny of Trump’s past ties to Epstein, who was convicted of sex offences and later died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
Opponents of the president have sought to tie him more directly to Epstein, while Trump and his team insist the renewed focus is part of what they call a Democratic “hoax.”
Following Monday’s publication, Leavitt doubled down in a social media post: “It’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!”
Pressed on Tuesday to clarify her comments, she added: “I did not say the documents are a hoax. I said the entire narrative surrounding Jeffrey Epstein right now… is a hoax being perpetuated by opportunistic Democrats who are trying to push this against the president of the United States.”
