DELTA POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED ILLICIT DRUGS DEALER

The Delta Police Command has apprehended a suspected female trafficker of illegal narcotics in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s representative, SP Bright Edafe, announced this in a communiqué shared with journalists in Warri on Wednesday.

Edafe stated that the suspect was taken into custody along with three of her trainees on August 29 by law enforcement personnel associated with the Ughelli Area Command.

He indicated that the operatives conducted the operation based on reliable intelligence concerning the activities of certain individuals engaged in the distribution of illegal drugs within the Afisere/Ughelli region.

“The operatives tracked and captured a drug lord who runs a pharmacy in the Afisere Community alongside her three trainees.

“The suspect directed the operatives to her residence in Afisere, where a search warrant was executed.

“Items seized from the suspects included: 355 bottles of CSC codeine, 57 containers of 50MG tramadol capsules, and 335 containers of 100mg tramadol capsules.

“Additionally, there were: 33 containers of 200mg super royal, seven backwoods, 540 sachets of swinol capsules, and 16 cups of Canadian liquid cannabis,” he stated.

The police spokesperson added that the investigation further indicated that the suspect was a significant distributor of illegal drugs in Ughelli and its surrounding areas.

Edafe noted that inquiries into the case are ongoing.
