GUNMEN KIDNAP PASTOR’S WIFE, MEMBER IN NASARAWA

Unidentified armed individuals believed to be abductors on the eve of the Sabbath evening seized Mrs. Patience Nasamu, spouse of Reverend Samuel Nasamu and a feminine follower of his congregation, to an unspecified location in Agyaragu within the Obi Local Government Area.
“I barely left my wife and our visitor with our new born baby at home to pray for one of my members who is sick when my wife placed a call to me and all I could hear was her voice of prayer. She could not even tell me what was happening.
“I stopped the prayers and when I got to the house my wife, a member was abducted leaving my three month baby behind,” he recounted.
Nasamu elaborated further that the armed individuals advanced directly towards his dwelling within a complex and exerted considerable endeavors to breach the apertures employing a hammer to shatter the entrance, and when they proved unsuccessful, they initiated discharging weaponry intermittently, compelling his spouse to unlock the portal. In an endeavor to escape, she was abducted, concurrently with a member of the congregation.

In accordance with Nasamu, around 7:00 pm, some unfamiliar visages were observed on motorized two-wheelers, and shortly after, the reverberations of gunfire were perceived.
The clergyman divulged that he had not obtained any communication from the abductors since the occurrence, which transpired around 8:15 pm on the Sabbath.
He likewise acknowledged that the constabulary arrived subsequent to the incident and beseeched tranquility as actions are underway to elucidate the felonious act.
In response, a resident of the Agyaragu community, who desired anonymity, bewailed that the escalation of abductions within the vicinity is disquieting and implored Governor Abdullahi Sule to implement immediate measures.
“We live everyday in fear of being kidnapped and killed if desired ransom is not paid to abductors. Several people in our community are being kidnapped on daily basis including farmers. Help us tell Governor A A Sule that Agyaragu is now at the mercy of kidnappers,” he expressed.
