WOMEN IN CAPTIVITY CRY FOR RESCUE AS KIDNAPPERS DEMAND N50M RANSOM IN NASARAWA

The abductors of two women taken on Sunday evening in Nasarawa State are demanding a ransom of N50 million for their liberation.
A family source informed our correspondent in Lafia that the women have endured significant adversity since their capture by armed individuals believed to be kidnappers.
One of the victims, the spouse of a pastor, was taken along with a church member. She is a nursing mother with a three-month-old infant and is reported to be distressed due to her health condition, the strain of extended journeys in the forest, and the severe treatment from her captors.

“She is seriously worried about her health and the separation from her three-month-old baby. The hostile environment and the inhumane treatment pose a serious threat to her survival,” the source stated.
The victim, who was heard sobbing, allegedly pleaded: “My baby, my baby… please, who will help me out of this calamity? Somebody please help me out of this forest of pain.”
Her husband and other family members have conveyed their profound distress over the kidnappers’ demand for such a substantial ransom prior to her release.
Concerned individuals have urged security forces and relevant authorities to urgently intervene and facilitate the rescue of the captives.
In a related matter, Dr. Muhammed Egye Osolafia, Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Humanitarian Services, who was also abducted on Sunday night, has regained his liberty.
