MISSOURI WOMAN JAILED OVER BIZARRE PLOT TO STEAL ELVIS PRESLEY’S GRACELAND
Agency Report
A Missouri woman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for orchestrating a fraudulent scheme to seize ownership of Graceland, the iconic Memphis home of Elvis Presley.
Lisa Findley, 54, pleaded guilty in February to one count of mail fraud in a Tennessee federal court. In return, prosecutors dropped a charge of identity theft, court documents show.
U.S. District Judge John Fowlkes handed her a 57-month prison term on Tuesday, along with three years of supervised release.
Findley had falsely claimed that Elvis’s late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, used Graceland as collateral for a \$3.8 million loan from a company called Naussany Investments in 2018. She alleged that Presley failed to repay the debt before her death in January 2023.
Based on the fabricated documents, a foreclosure auction of the estate was scheduled for May 2024 but was halted at the last minute after Presley’s daughter, actress Riley Keough, sued. A judge subsequently ruled that the loan documents were forgeries.
Graceland, purchased by Elvis Presley in 1957, remains one of the most visited private homes in the United States, attracting hundreds of thousands of fans each year.
