PDP YET TO FINALISE MICRO-ZONING AHEAD OF IBADAN CONVENTION

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has not yet finalized the micro-zoning of party roles in anticipation of its national convention, which is set to occur in Ibadan next month, as reported by Vanguard.
An anonymous member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) indicated in Abuja on Wednesday that discussions are still in progress, with leadership seeking to reconcile positions prior to presenting the issue to the 103rd NEC meeting scheduled for October 15.
“We are looking at before the end of this month,” the NEC member commented when inquired about the timeline for finalizing the micro-zoning arrangements.
He elaborated that the delay stemmed from the leadership’s inability to convene and reach conclusions on the topic.
“The leadership has not met to harmonise positions and finalise arrangements. Remember, there will be a NEC meeting next month in Ibadan where a report on the matter will be presented,” he remarked.
When approached for comment, a senior administrative staff member at the PDP national secretariat also refrained from providing insights, stating, “I am incompetent to speak on the matter.”
The postponement has left candidates and stakeholders in a state of uncertainty, as the micro-zoning framework will dictate which states or geopolitical zones will appoint pivotal officers in the party’s forthcoming leadership structure.
