LAGOS SHOWCASES TOURISM, CREATIVE ECONOMY AT EU FUTURE FORUM IN BRUSSELS

LagosState Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has spotlighted the state’s cultural and creative economy drive at the 4th Future Forum of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.

The event, held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the ICMPD Brussels Mission, was organised by the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) to deepen diaspora engagement and strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.

Speaking at the Future Forum Capacity Development Lab – Institutional Partners Side Session, Benson-Awoyinka showcased Lagos’s initiatives in tourism, heritage preservation, and the creative arts, describing them as key to promoting cultural identity and boosting the state’s economy.

Shesaid Lagos continues to leverage its rich culture, entertainment scene, and tourism potential to attract investment, create jobs, and project Nigeria’s image on the global stage.

“Through our creative and tourism initiatives, Lagos is not just preserving heritage — we’re building a future where culture drives growth and innovation,” she said.

Her participation, according to the ministry, underscores Lagos’s commitment to positioning itself as Africa’s hub for cultural excellence and sustainable tourism.
