Former Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority and ex-Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, has commended Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, for her “remarkable” leadership in her first 100 days in office.

Senator Ashafa gave the commendation on Friday at the grand finale of the chairman’s 100-days in office celebration, which featured the distribution of Renewed Hope Palliatives to 2,000 residents.

His words, “Your leadership within this short but impactful period has demonstrated a clear vision, deep commitment, and a profound sense of duty to the people you serve.”

He highlighted the Mayoress’ developmental achievements, noting, “Your administration’s strides, most notably, the imminent opening of the New Mile 12 International Market (Phase II), which will provide a safer and more organized environment for thousands of traders, speak volumes of your foresight and passion for inclusive economic development.

“Similarly, the commissioning of Science Road in Unilag Estate reflects your thoughtful approach to infrastructure as a tool for community progress.”

Ashafa also applauded Princess Bada’s other initiatives, stating, “I am equally inspired by your forward-looking initiatives: the proposed low-cost housing scheme for working-class families, the Ikosi-Isheri Recreational Centre to promote wellness and youth engagement, the modern fire station to strengthen emergency response, and your commitment to reconstructing primary schools to meet global standards. The planned new palace for the Onikosi of Ikosi, a symbol of unity and heritage, beautifully blends development with cultural preservation.”

He further praised her social intervention programmes, saying, “Above all, your introduction of the Monthly Renewed Hope Cash Support Programme, providing N100,000 to 500 residents, demonstrates a bold and compassionate effort to bring tangible relief and dignity to families amid economic challenges. Indeed, you are making ‘Renewed Hope’ a living reality for every household.”

Senator Ashafa concluded by felicitating with the Mayoress and praying for her continued success, adding, “As you celebrate this milestone, I join the good people of Ikosi-Isheri in commending your exemplary leadership and dedication to service.

“May the Almighty continue to strengthen you with wisdom, grace, and the courage to achieve even greater heights,” he added.

Friday palliatives distribution underscore the council’s commitment to socio-economic empowerment and grassroots development.

Earlier in the week, the Mayoress inaugurated several key infrastructure projects across Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. In Olowora community, Adetuberu Street, Isaac Omole Street, and Temitayo Obisanya Street were commissioned to improve accessibility and connectivity.

Within Bello Folawiyo Estate, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Street, Solomon Niran Aluko Street, Bello Folawiyo Street, and Yetunde Owoseni Close were unveiled, aimed at enhancing mobility, boosting economic activity, and ensuring safer, more organized roads for residents.

Thursday marked the commissioning of the new Mile 12 International Market (Phase II), transforming the popular trading hub into a modern, organized, and secure environment for thousands of traders.

Collectively, these projects reflect the administration’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus vision, both of which emphasize infrastructure renewal, economic empowerment, and community-driven development.
