Premier League club Chelsea on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, succeeding Enzo Maresca.
The English coach, who has signed a contract running until 2032, described his appointment as “extremely humbling and an honour” in a statement released by the club.
“This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud tradition of success,” he added. “My responsibility is to uphold that identity and build a team that embodies these values in every match, while striving to win more trophies.”
Rosenior, 41, told Strasbourg on Tuesday that the Chelsea role was “an opportunity I cannot turn down.”
He assumes the position with Chelsea currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table.
