LAWMA LAUNCHES “SHOW YOUR PSP PAYMENT RECEIPT” COMPLIANCE DRIVE IN APAPA-IGANMU

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has announced a compliance operation in the Apapa-Iganmu area, requiring residents and businesses to present proof of payment to their assigned Private Sector Participant (PSP) waste operators.
The initiative, tagged “Show Your PSP Payment Receipt,” was disclosed in a statement on Monday via the Lagos State Government’s official social media platforms.
According to Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the exercise aims to tackle indiscriminate waste disposal and identify properties without valid waste collection arrangements.
“The initiative is designed to address the root causes of indiscriminate waste disposal by verifying property-level compliance with PSP collection payment obligations,” the statement partly read.
Gbadegesin added that the operation would involve routine compliance checks at residential and commercial premises, helping to close service gaps that contribute to illegal dumping and blackspot formation across the corridor.
Residents and business operators within Apapa-Iganmu are urged to regularise their PSP payments and maintain proper waste storage ahead of the enforcement drive.
The authority stressed that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve sanitation standards and ensure efficient waste management across Lagos State.
