Media personality Babajide Kolade-Otitoju has explained why Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde did not purchase the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential nomination form.

Speaking on Thursday during a programme on TVC, Kolade-Otitoju said Makinde was aware he would not be on the ballot unless he aligned with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

He also dismissed claims about a political merger, insisting that no merger can take place without the approval of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Why did Makinde and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, not obtain presidential forms from the Taminu Turaki-led PDP? Forget all the noise about merger; you cannot have a merger without the regulator, INEC. The APC only emerged from a merger in 2013, but not in this way. An individual cannot just lose out in a power game and then declare a merger,” he said.
