VIDEO: FEMALE NSCDC OFFICER TRAGICALLY CRUSHED TO DEATH BY OPERATIONAL VAN IN ABUJA

A female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has reportedly died following an accident during a display in the Federal Capital Territory.

The incident, captured in a viral 58-second video circulating on social media on Saturday, reportedly occurred during a “show of force” exercise by the Corps’ Female Strike Force, also known as the Female Squad.

The footage showed a black operational van with red wheels, bearing the inscription “Female Squad,” moving ahead while a second van marked “Female Strike Force FCT Command” followed behind.

During a turn, the lead vehicle reportedly ran over a female officer, pinning her underneath.

The video further showed several NSCDC officers and bystanders rushing to the scene and jointly lifting the van to rescue the trapped victim before she was moved into a waiting ambulance.

Although the Corps has yet to issue a formal press release, The Cable reported that the NSCDC spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, confirmed the officer’s death during a telephone conversation on Saturday afternoon.

As of the time of filing this report, the identity of the deceased officer had not been made public, but Babawale reportedly stated that a detailed statement would be released to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
