POLICE RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE, ARREST TWO SUSPECTS IN OGUN

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command’s anti-robbery unit have recovered an unregistered Toyota Matrix stolen during an armed robbery at De-Ultimate Hotel along Sokoto/Badagry Road in Atan Ota, Lagos State.

The police also arrested two car dealers in connection with the incident.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Saturday.

Babaseyi explained that “On the 18th of Feb. 2026 at about 0130hrs, Armed Robbers stormed D- ultimate hotel, Sokoto/ Badagry road, Atan Ota, Ogun State, robbed one Joseph Bankole and the staff of the hotel of valuables, which include an unregistered Toyota matrix car, phones and other valuables.

“Men of the Anti-Robbery Unit SCID Eleweran, led by SP  Gbenga Ayodele, the OC Anti-Robbery, swung into action, leading to the recovery of the car in Lagos on the 15th of April 2026. Investigations are still ongoing.

“Two car dealers have been arrested as investigations are ongoing to apprehend more culprits who were involved in the crime.”
