MANCHESTER CITY HELD TO 2-2 DRAW BY NOTTINGHAM FOREST AT ETIHAD
Agency Report

Manchester City FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest FC at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, in a dramatic Premier League clash that saw the visitors claw back from a two-goal deficit.
City took the lead in the 31st minute through Antoine Semenyo, before Rodri doubled the advantage early in the second half, giving the hosts what seemed a comfortable lead.
However, Nottingham Forest mounted a spirited fightback under new manager Vitor Pereira, with Morgan Gibbs-White pulling one back midway through the second half. Elliot Anderson’s well-placed strike late in the game secured a hard-earned point for the visitors.
The draw represents a setback for Manchester City in their chase for league leaders Arsenal, who recorded a narrow win elsewhere on the same night.
Forest, battling for Premier League survival, adopted a disciplined defensive strategy, limiting City’s attacking opportunities despite the absence of former City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno due to injury.
City pressed for a winner in the closing stages, including a late chance from Rodri and a final scramble involving Savinho, which was cleared off the line by Murillo.
Manchester City’s official post-match report noted: “Appeals for a penalty when Sels made contact with Haaland were turned down before minutes later, Anderson fired home a second equaliser from the edge of the box. With seven minutes of injury time, City pushed for a winner, but could not break the visitors’ resilient defence.”
The draw leaves City needing to maintain pressure on Arsenal as the Premier League title race intensifies.
