The Kogi State Polytechnic community has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of a lecturer, Mr. Anslem Ojodomo.
Mr. Ojodomo’s death comes barely a month after another lecturer, Barnabas Akuba, passed away in February shortly after completing his PhD programme.
Mr. Ojodomo reportedly collapsed and died on Thursday while delivering a lecture to students at Kogi State Polytechnic.
According to a source within the institution, the incident occurred during a classroom session when the lecturer suddenly slumped while addressing students, causing confusion and panic.
He was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but was later confirmed dead despite efforts by medical personnel to revive him.

Sources further disclosed that apprehension has gripped the school community, as Ojodomo’s death marks the third recorded within six weeks since the new Rector, Salihu Sanusi, assumed office on February 11.
They also noted concerns that both Ojodomo and Barnabas Akuba died shortly after defending their PhD theses.
A staff member added that Ojodomo had attended a meeting just hours before the lecture and appeared healthy and full of life.
As of press time, the management of the polytechnic had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
