AKWA IBOM POLICE ARREST TWO OVER ALLEGED MURDER OF 27-YEAR-OLD MAN

Two suspects, identified as Idem Etim (male) and Namkere Ikoboatang (female), are currently in the custody of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command over their alleged involvement in the murder of a 27-year-old man, Okon, from Iko Udo Obobo Village in Ukanafun Local Government Area of the state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in Uyo on Sunday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John.

According to the statement, the victim was discovered burnt beyond recognition inside a room in what is believed to be a premeditated and violent attack.

John explained that police operatives, acting on credible intelligence, quickly arrived at the scene where the body was found. The area was immediately secured, and a full investigation was launched.

She added that through intelligence-led policing and sustained investigative efforts, two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. The suspects are currently in custody and reportedly assisting investigators with useful information.

The statement further noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has directed a thorough investigation to ensure that all individuals involved are identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
