The South-West zonal meeting and press conference of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) featured the presentation of newly elected chairmen from the six states in the region.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun, the Osun State Publicity Secretary (Elect) of the ADC, following the meeting held at Ibadan Business School, Old Bodija, Ibadan.
According to the statement, the gathering formally introduced the chairmen who emerged through what it described as credible and transparent processes during the party’s recent State Congresses conducted across the South-West in April.
Attendees at the meeting commended Rauf Aregbesola for his leadership role in coordinating the activities of the Zonal Executive Committee.
The party also acknowledged the contributions of other zonal leaders, stating that their efforts had strengthened unity and internal cohesion within the ADC across the region.

The statement further praised the conduct of the congresses, describing them as peaceful, transparent and credible under the supervision of the party’s National Secretary and National Chairman, David Mark.
It added that the congress outcomes reflected the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and adherence to due process in its organisational structure.
The meeting also noted that the ADC continues to experience growth, with members from the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party and New Nigeria Peoples Party reportedly joining the party.
According to the statement, the increasing support reflects a collective desire among members to address the challenges facing Nigerians under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to improving governance and expanding economic opportunities, stating that its policies would focus on the welfare of ordinary citizens.
It also reiterated its determination to enhance security across the South-West, particularly in tackling kidnapping and armed banditry.
The party called on residents of the region to join its fold while encouraging members to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at promoting democratic governance and restoring hope.
