24 SOLDIERS KILLED AS BOKO HARAM ATTACK MILITARY BASE IN CHAD

A Boko Haram attack on a Chadian military base has left 24 Chadian soldiers dead. The attack occurred at the Barka Tolorim military base on the Chadian side of Lake Chad on Monday evening, May 4. The attack left 25 dead and 46 wounded according to Chadian military officials.
” Once again, the Boko Haram terrorist group perpetrated a cowardly attack last night against our military base in Barka Tolorom, in the Lake Chad province. We will continue the fight with renewed determination….”
The Chadian President Mahamat Idris Deby reacted to the attack. The last major Boko Haram assault on a Chadian military base occurred in October 2024. The attack left 40 Chadian soldiers dead. In response, President Deby launched Operation Haskanit, a four month campaign to deny the group sanctuary on Chadian territory.
