WAFU B U-20 CHAMPIONSHIP: CHELLE HAILS FLYING EAGLES’ VICTORY OVER TOGO

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has praised the Flying Eagles for their impressive second-half performance in Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Togo at the WAFU B U-20 Championship, the media reports.
The defending champions booked a place in the semi-finals after defeating the Sparrow Hawks in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
Following a goalless first half, Abdu Maikaba’s side came out stronger after the break, with Abdumuiz Adeleke netting a brace before substitute Abdoulaye Agbeloye added the third goal.
Chelle, who was in Côte d’Ivoire to support the Flying Eagles, expressed his delight with the team’s response after the interval.
“I was happy with what I saw in the second half. They played well, put a lot of pressure on Togo, won the ball high up the pitch, created plenty of scoring chances, and converted them,” Chelle said after the match.
The Flying Eagles will conclude their group-stage campaign against Burkina Faso on Sunday.
