FIFA WORLD RANKING: SUPER EAGLES DROP POINTS TO MOVE OUT OF TOP 30
Nigeria have dropped one place in the latest FIFA men’s rankings for the month of September.
The Super Eagles, who were ranked 30th dropped six points to 31st in the latest world ranking released in August.
Jose Peseiro’s men suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Algeria in their international friendly in September, which is part of the reason for the drop in point.
However, the three-time African champions remains the fourth-ranked team in Africa. African Nations Cup winner, Senegal retains the number one spot on the continent and 18th in the world, while Morocco rank 2nd in Africa and also moved one place to 22nd in the world.
Algeria overtook Egypt to complete the top five teams in Africa and moved up three places in the world to take the 37th spot, while Tunisia remained the third-best team in Africa and ranked 30th overall.
Brazil, meanwhile, is still rated first in the world after defeating Ghana and Tunisia in two international friendlies in September.
Belgium are second, with Argentina occupying the third position. France and England maintained their positions to remain the fourth and fifth-best teams in the world.
