ADAMAWA POLICE ARREST TWO WITH N5.25M WORTH OF SUSPECTED TRAMADOL

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly transporting 150,000 capsules of suspected Tramadol valued at N5.25 million.
The suspects, identified as Bashiru Ibrahim, 27, and Mustapha Labbo, 26, both residents of Jamtari, were arrested by police operatives during a routine patrol.
The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, saying the suspects were intercepted on August 11 at Dabala Village, via Malabu.
According to him, the suspects were allegedly transporting the consignment from Jamtari to Garwa in the Republic of Cameroon when they were stopped by the patrol team attached to the Area Command, Yola.
“A search conducted by the patrol team led to the recovery of 150 packs containing a total of 150,000 Tramadol capsules, with an estimated street value of Five Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira,” the statement said.
The suspects and the recovered drugs have been taken into police custody, while investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the consignment and identify other persons allegedly connected to the operation.
The command urged members of the public to continue providing credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime and protecting communities.
Meanwhile, the police also appealed to members of the public to help identify a child who was found wandering around the temporary Market Bypass in Yola.
The child was reportedly found by a resident, Shitu Mahmudu, of Wuro Hausa, Yola South Local Government Area, who subsequently handed the child over to the police.
The command said the child was unable to provide sufficient information about his identity or locate his family and is currently being kept safely at Yola Division.
It appealed to anyone with useful information about the child or his family to contact the Divisional Police Officer, Yola Division, or visit the nearest police station.
