Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday inaugurated 30 campaign vehicles donated to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.

The vehicles, donated by the convener of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, were inaugurated at an event held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The event attracted supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Accord Party, alongside several political stakeholders, including APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal; Accord Party Chairman in the state, Victor Akande; and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun.

Reading Governor Adeleke’s address, Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi commended supporters across party lines for what he described as their unity of purpose in supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Adeleke described the gathering as an opportunity for coalition partners to set aside previous disagreements and work towards securing between 1.5 million and two million votes for Tinubu in Osun.

He, however, clarified that the coalition was limited to the presidential election, noting that each political partner would independently support its candidates in the National and State Assembly elections.

The governor also urged campaign members to take Tinubu’s message to grassroots communities, highlighting Federal Government projects in Osun, the anticipated resolution of the local government crisis and the long-term benefits of ongoing economic reforms.

In his remarks, Oyetola, whose address was delivered by former APC governorship candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, said Tinubu’s re-election campaign was attracting support beyond the traditional boundaries of the APC.

He described the emerging political understanding between the APC and Accord Party in Osun as significant, noting that Governor Adeleke was coordinating the Rainbow Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election.

Oyetola said the target of securing 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun was achievable through unity, discipline and effective mobilisation.

He also urged supporters to extend their mobilisation efforts to APC candidates contesting National and State Assembly seats.

Earlier, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, urged residents to support Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, citing initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and Federal Government-funded road projects in the state.

Also speaking, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, who represented Tompolo, said the donor was supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid because of his commitment to the country’s interests.

Pondi disclosed that the 30 vehicles were equipped with speakers, generators and amplifiers to facilitate grassroots mobilisation, adding that additional resources would be provided to strengthen the campaign.

He urged Osun residents to deliver 100 per cent votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Osun Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Timothy Olanrewaju, assured the group’s national leadership that the state would deliver maximum support for the President.

The event comes amid a noticeable distance between Adeleke and Oyetola, despite their parties’ decision to work together for Tinubu’s re-election.

The media reports that Oyetola and several APC leaders were absent when Adeleke recently inaugurated the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election, highlighting the political differences that have continued to characterise their relationship.
