ALABA BREAKS SILENCE ON UDINESE MOVE AFTER REAL MADRID DEPARTURE

Former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has explained his decision to join Italian Serie A club Udinese following his departure from the Spanish giants.
The 34-year-old Austria international joined Udinese on a free transfer and has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.
Alaba, a four-time Champions League winner, said he chose to continue his career because he still wants to compete at the highest level rather than begin winding down his playing days.

Speaking after completing the move, Alaba said his hunger for success remains unchanged despite the achievements of his decorated career.
“I’ve had so many experiences and won so much throughout my career, but one thing hasn’t changed, I want to win again,” he said.
The defender had been without a club since leaving Real Madrid during the close season. His most recent appearance came while captaining Austria at the World Cup, where they were eliminated by eventual champions Spain in the last 32.
Despite winning the Champions League twice with Bayern Munich and twice with Real Madrid, Alaba insisted he remains highly motivated.
“I certainly haven’t come to wind down my career. I’m still too ambitious for that, and I still strongly believe in what I can do on the pitch,” he said.
Alaba said he is determined to establish himself in Serie A and contribute to Udinese’s objectives for the season.
“I want to keep pushing, perform at the highest level in Serie A week in and week out, and achieve something meaningful,” he added.
He also expressed excitement about the new challenge, saying he still has plenty to prove to himself on the pitch.
Alaba joins an Udinese side that had collected four points from their opening five Serie A matches. The experienced defender has made 117 appearances for Austria, scoring 15 goals, and brings significant international and club experience to the team.
