BARCELONA CAPTAIN RAPHINHA RULED OUT OF GETAFE, GALATASARAY CLASHES

Agency Report
Barcelona captain Raphinha will miss the club’s next two fixtures after sustaining a hamstring problem while representing Brazil, head coach Hansi Flick confirmed on Friday.
Flick described the injury as minor but stressed the need for caution, given the forward’s history of recurring muscle problems.
“The picture shows something, and it’s not a big injury,” Flick told reporters, adding that the issue still required attention.
“We have to take care about this because he had a lot of injuries last season. I think three injuries. And we take care,” the German coach said.
He confirmed that Raphinha would miss Saturday’s La Liga encounter against Getafe and Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Flick also expressed frustration with the fixture schedule, which he believes places excessive demands on players. Raphinha picked up the injury during a friendly match in Australia while on international duty with Brazil.
The 29-year-old has been deployed as a centre-forward at Barcelona since the start of the season and has made an impressive impact, scoring 14 goals in eight matches across all competitions to emerge as the leading scorer in Europe’s major leagues.
However, recurring muscle injuries have continued to disrupt his career. The Brazilian returned from the March 2026 international break with an injury after featuring against France in a friendly in Boston.
His absence was particularly costly for Barcelona towards the end of last season, especially in the Champions League, where the Catalan side were eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.
Raphinha also sustained a hamstring injury while playing for Brazil during the 2026 World Cup.
Barcelona, the reigning two-time Spanish champions, remain unbeaten in La Liga this season and sit at the top of the standings, five points ahead of Atletico Madrid.
