Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to a Quranic citation contest following the President’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, the lesser Hajj.
Melaye made the challenge in a post on his X handle on Monday, declaring his readiness to compete with the President in citing verses from the Quran upon his return from Saudi Arabia.

In the post, the former lawmaker wrote, “Now that Alhaji Bola Tinubu is in Umrah. Immediately he comes back, I challenge him to a Quranic citation competition with me. No one can mock God. SDM.”
The challenge followed a post by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared details of Tinubu’s religious activities in Saudi Arabia, including his visit to the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah.
Tinubu travelled to the kingdom to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be undertaken at any time of the year, unlike the annual Hajj.
