EFCC ARRESTS 32 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN BAUCHI, RECOVERS PHONES, LAPTOPS, PISTOL AND CARS

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of 32 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Bauchi State.
In a statement released on the commission’s official Facebook page on Monday, the EFCC said the suspects were apprehended by operatives of its Gombe Zonal Directorate on Friday, July 25, 2025.
The arrests, which took place in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of the Bauchi metropolis, followed credible intelligence linking the individuals to various forms of online fraudulent activity.
Among items recovered during the sting operation were nine Samsung phones, 15 iPhones, one Infinix device, three Redmi phones, two iPads, eight laptops, and one Peugeot 406 vehicle. Other seized items included two PlayStation 4 consoles, one PlayStation 5, four Neonx Auto motorcycles, a Maxi E50KWH generator, and one pistol.
The commission noted that the suspects will be formally charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
