Kelvin Okechukwu Ejeh has resigned from his position as assistant coach of nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba.
Ejeh submitted his resignation letter to the club’s management on Saturday, citing irreconcilable differences with head coach Emmanuel Deutsch.
The former Abia Comets handler said he found it difficult to work effectively in what he described as a toxic environment.
“Enyimba is a club after my heart. It’s a club so dear to me, but I don’t function effectively well under a toxic environment,” Ejeh told Completesports.com.
He added that the breakdown of trust contributed to his decision to leave, alleging that his boss had begun listening to gossip without giving him an opportunity to present his side.
“When your boss begins to listen to gossip without recourse to hearing from you, then it becomes clear that trust is gone and the working relationship has been severed. So, I had to leave,” he said.
Ejeh’s resignation comes as Enyimba struggle for consistency in the 2026/27 NPFL season, having recorded just one victory from their opening six matches.
The Aba-based club are scheduled to host Plateau United in a Matchday 7 fixture at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday.
