GLOBAL CONVOY TRAVELS EYES MORE DOMESTIC, INTERNATIONAL TOURS AFTER SUCCESSFUL ABEOKUTA OUTING

Global Convoy Travels and Tours says it is looking to expand its tourism offerings to more domestic and international destinations following its Abeokuta excursion.
The company’s Travel and Tours Consultant, Ephraim Success, disclosed this while speaking with Hotjist on the experience of organising the Abeokuta tour, which featured visits to Olumo Rock, the Egba Museum at the Alake’s Palace, the M.K.O. Abiola Garden and the Adire Market.
Success described the planning process as a mixture of challenges and rewarding moments, particularly the logistics involved in transporting and accommodating tourists travelling from different locations.
She identified train bookings as one of the major challenges encountered while preparing for the trip, particularly because some customers expressed interest late.
“It was such a hassle for me to be able to book for people that only showed their interest late.”
She said the situation even resulted in some staff members giving up their train seats to ensure customers were more comfortable.
“As you know, as an organisation, our customers come first.”
Success also cited the challenge of sourcing vendors in Ogun State, given that the company is based in Lagos, but said the team was able to overcome the logistical difficulties.
Despite the challenges, she said seeing the tourists’ positive reactions made the effort worthwhile.
“There are smiles on their faces. They are giving good reports. So, I am really glad that all my efforts to putting this together didn’t go in vain.”
Looking ahead, Success said the company could explore both domestic and international destinations, mentioning Dubai as a possible international destination and Obudu Mountain Ranch and Resorts as a potential domestic destination.
She also stressed the importance of customer feedback in improving the company’s future tours and services.
“We take feedbacks very seriously. I believe it helps any organisation.”
The Abeokuta excursion brought together tourists from Lagos and Ibadan, who converged at the Professor Wole Soyinka Train Station in Abeokuta before embarking on the day’s activities.
