INEC DISMISSES 2027 AD-HOC STAFF RECRUITMENT CLAIM, WARNS AGAINST FAKE WEBSITE

The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent online recruitment notice claiming that it has begun recruiting and training ad-hoc personnel for the 2027 General Election.

The commission said the message circulating on social media directs interested applicants to a website purportedly created for the recruitment exercise, but clarified that the notice was not issued by INEC.

In a statement released on Monday, the electoral body said it had become aware of the misleading recruitment information and urged the public to disregard it.

INEC stated that the website being circulated alongside the notice was not an official recruitment platform of the commission.

The commission warned Nigerians against clicking on the link, submitting personal details, uploading documents or making payments through the platform.

It urged members of the public to rely solely on INEC’s verified communication channels and official website for authentic information on recruitment and election-related activities.

The electoral body also recalled that it had previously cautioned Nigerians about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements falsely claiming to be affiliated with the commission.

INEC advised anyone seeking genuine information about its activities to consult its official website and verified communication platforms.

The commission urged Nigerians to disregard the fake recruitment notice and verify the authenticity of online information before taking any action.
