ISBAE U REVEALS HOW HE CREATED ‘CURIOSITY MADE ME ASK’ SHOW

Nigerian content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U, has revealed that his popular interview series, Curiosity Made Me Ask, was created from his desire to move beyond skit-making and establish a unique identity in the entertainment industry.
Isbae U shared the story during an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on The Morayo Show, which was published on YouTube on Wednesday.
The content creator said he experimented with different forms of entertainment, including acting, singing and rapping, while trying to discover the area that suited him best.
He explained that he eventually decided he did not want to be known simply as another skit maker and began searching for an idea that would distinguish him from others in the industry.
According to Isbae U, the inspiration for Curiosity Made Me Ask came after he watched American comedian Zach Galifianakis’ interview series, Between Two Ferns.
He said he immediately recognised the potential to adapt a similar concept to his own style of content.
Isbae U has since used the format to interview several prominent personalities, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, actor Pete Edochie and entertainer Charly Boy.
Explaining the concept behind the show, he said the interviews are designed to reveal sides of celebrities that audiences may not have previously seen.
Isbae U also admitted that he sometimes feels nervous when interviewing older and more established personalities, but said many of them have welcomed him and encouraged him to remain himself.
His recent interview with Obasanjo attracted significant attention online, with the former president becoming one of the latest high-profile guests on the programme.
The content creator also disclosed that he continues to work on other creative projects behind the scenes, including writing stories for other creators.
He said his focus on Curiosity Made Me Ask does not mean he has stopped creating other forms of content and hinted that more projects are in development.
